Duties & Responsibilities

Our client is a highly regarded professional services and advisory organisation with a strong presence across the financial services sector. They are seeking a Treasury Risk Senior Manager to join their Financial Risk Management practice and play a key role in delivering treasury, market risk, liquidity, and balance sheet management solutions to a diverse client base.

The successful candidate will lead strategic engagements, provide specialist treasury risk expertise, and support clients in navigating evolving regulatory requirements, financial risk challenges, and treasury transformation initiatives.

This role offers significant exposure to executive stakeholders and provides an opportunity to contribute to business growth while leading complex projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead treasury and financial risk management engagements
• Advise on treasury governance, policies, controls, and operating models
• Support liquidity risk management, funding strategies, and capital management initiatives
• Assist clients with balance sheet management, ALM, and FTP processes
• Review and enhance treasury risk frameworks and reporting
• Lead project planning, stakeholder engagement, and delivery execution
• Support treasury transformation and system implementation projects
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and client presentations
• Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing
• Stay abreast of regulatory and market developments impacting treasury functions

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education

• BCom Honours in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Risk Management, or related field
• CA(SA), CFA, FRM, or similar professional qualification advantageous

Experience

• Minimum 7 years' experience within Treasury Risk, Financial Risk, Banking, Financial Services, or Consulting
• Strong experience in treasury operations, liquidity management, and risk frameworks
• Proven stakeholder management and project leadership experience
• Understanding of treasury systems and transformation initiatives advantageous

Skills

• Strong knowledge of ALM, FTP, liquidity risk, funding, and cash management
• Understanding of financial services regulatory frameworks
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Strong commercial acumen and client-facing capabilities
• Proven project management and leadership abilities
