SUMMARY

Our well established client in the fuel industry is seeking a energetic and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to grow their career in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

POSITION INFO

Grade 12 (Matric). Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field will be a plus 2-4 years' accounting experience in a retail environment. Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience working on an accounting system such as Sage, Pastel, SAP, or similar. Sound understanding of accounting principles. Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure Key Responsibilities Process and reconcile bank accounts and cashbooks. Prepare and process journals and general ledger reconciliations. Perform balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with monthly management accounts and month-end processes. Reconcile creditors and debtors accounts.

Process invoices and ensure accurate financial record keeping. Assist with VAT calculations and statutory submissions. Prepare financial reports and analyse data using Microsoft Excel. Support budgeting and forecasting processes. Assist with external and internal audit requirements. Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance team.
