Intermediate Automation Test Engineer

This role offers an exciting opportunity to take complete ownership of QA processes, build robust automation frameworks from scratch, integrate them into the CI/CD pipeline, and accelerate their release cycles.

Duties & Responsibilities

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Strategy & Frameworks: Define, execute, and take ownership of the QA Strategy Plan, focusing heavily on building frameworks, increasing test coverage, and improving release speed and stability.
• Test Execution: Design, develop, and refine comprehensive test plans and test cases. Execute both manual and automated testing to identify, document, and resolve software defects.
• Testing Types: Conduct comprehensive regression testing to protect existing features, and perform usability testing to optimize user experience.

Collaboration & Communication

• Team Alignment: Partner with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to understand product requirements and align on testing strategies.
• Release Management: Actively participate in release planning meetings, offer insights on product readiness/risks, provide detailed release reports, and ensure test completeness prior to each release.
• Issue Tracking: Document, track, and manage bugs in an issue tracking system to ensure clear communication and timely resolution.

Continuous Improvement & Mentorship

• Process Optimization: Implement process improvements, including customized ticket templates to standardize issue reporting and scoping.
• Mentorship: Mentor junior QA team members, sharing technical knowledge and reviewing their work to foster overall growth and development.
• Trend Adaptation: Stay current with industry best practices, tools, and emerging trends in QA to scale automation practices internally.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Formal Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification: ISTQB Foundation certificate is required.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Professional Experience: 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in software quality assurance or a similar role.
• Automation Tools: Preferred experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Postman, or Playwright.
• Methodologies: Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is highly advantageous.
• Systems: Proficiency in issue tracking systems and test management tools.
