The Role

IT Systems Administrator The purpose of this role is to own day-to-day IT at the office to keep people productive by managing onboarding, identity, collaboration, Windows endpoints, networking, telephony, and key SaaS tools. You will partner closely with the managed service provider and the chief technology officer to ensure services remain healthy, secure, and well-documented.

The focus is on making order from chaos, documenting how things work, and intentionally bringing the right IT pieces in-house over the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day IT with 3-5 years'' experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role.
• Act as the daily liaison with the managed service provider by handling stand-ups, ticket flow, SLA follow-through, and clear communications during incidents.
• Manage identity and collaboration via Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including provisioning, access, MFA, Conditional Access, and site-level sharing controls.
• Administer Windows endpoints by managing baseline images, updates, compliance, encryption, and the asset lifecycle.
• Support networking and connectivity, including firewalls, enterprise Wi-Fi, VPN, remote access, and ISP or vendor coordination.
• Handle telephony basics such as call flows, IVR, ring groups, and email signature policies.
• Coordinate SaaS administration across core business tools while keeping SOPs, diagrams, and runbooks current.
• Utilize any nice-to-have exposure to Meraki/Uni
• Fi ecosystems, backup/recovery workflows, finance systems, or vendor management.

About You

Requires 3-5 years'' experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role. Possesses strong technical skills with Microsoft 365/Entra ID, Windows endpoint management, and networking fundamentals like DNS, DHCP, and VPN. Demonstrates comfort coordinating with an MSP, managing PBX call flows, and administering SaaS tools. Acts as a clear communicator who writes crisp SOPs and status updates.

Holds the right to work in South Africa. Brings PowerShell or scripting experience for automation and documentation as a plus. Possesses advantageous exposure to Meraki/UniFi ecosystems and backup/recovery workflows. Maintains advantageous experience with finance systems and vendor management.
