About the role
The Social Media & Content Coordinator will act as the central content engine for our brand portfolio.
You will translate marketing strategies and campaign briefs into engaging, platform-specific content; manage organic social channels and communities; coordinate internal and outsourced content production; and use performance data to improve future activity.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can move comfortably between content planning, content design and generation, short-form video production, community engagement, supplier coordination and reporting.
Key responsibilitiesš§³
Social media planning and management āļø
- Translate quarterly marketing strategies and campaign briefs into practical social media plans and content calendars.
- Develop and manage organic content calendars across multiple brands and platforms.
- Schedule, publish and optimize content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and other relevant channels.
- Adapt content, messaging and formats for each platform while maintaining the identity and tone of each brand.
- Maintain clear publishing schedules, approval processes and campaign deadlines.
- Identify relevant platform trends and content opportunities that can be used in an authentic, brand-appropriate way.
Content creation and productionš±
- Create engaging, social-first content, including short-form videos, graphics, carousels, stories, captions and other digital assets.
- Turn briefs supplied by marketing team members into polished, platform-ready content.
- Plan and coordinate social-first product, lifestyle and campaign shoots.
- Develop clear creative and production briefs for agencies, freelancers, photographers, videographers and content creators.
- Manage production schedules, feedback, approvals and final delivery.
- Repurpose existing content effectively across brands, platforms and formats.
- Collaborate with the Website and Paid Media Manager to produce and supply creative assets for paid digital campaigns, websites and other digital touchpoints.
- Maintain awareness of emerging content formats, creative tools and social media best practices.
Community management š
- Monitor brand channels, comments, direct messages, mentions and relevant conversations daily.
- Respond to routine enquiries and engage meaningfully with brand communities.
- Escalate customer-service, product or reputational matters to the appropriate internal team member.
- Protect and consistently apply each brandās tone of voice.
- Identify proactive engagement opportunities with customers, creators and relevant communities.
- Maintain clear escalation processes for sensitive or urgent matters.
Content and asset management šµļø āļøšµļø āļø
- Maintain an organised and accessible digital content library.
- Manage internally created, outsourced and user-generated content.
- Apply consistent file naming, tagging, metadata and version-control standards.
- Maintain records of content usage rights, creator permissions and expiry dates where applicable.
- Archive seasonal and historical content so that useful assets can easily be located and repurposed.
Reporting and optimisation š
- Own regular performance reporting for organic social media channels.
- Track and interpret metrics such as reach, engagement, audience growth, video views, content performance, community responsiveness and traffic generated.
- Identify the strongest and weakest-performing content, formats and platforms.
- Translate performance data into practical recommendations for future content.
- Test new creative approaches, formats, posting schedules and messaging.
- Share concise, commercially relevant insights with the wider marketing team.
Budget and administration šµ
- Track relevant content and social media expenditure against approved budgets and forecasts.
- Record marketing expenditure accurately and timeously in accordance with company procedures.
- Coordinate the submission and payment of invoices from creators, agencies and digital service providers.
- Follow up with suppliers for quotations, statements and valid tax invoices.
- Maintain accurate records of outsourced projects, commitments and approved expenditure.
Experience and qualificationsš
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in social media management, digital content creation, content marketing or a similar role.
- A relevant qualification in marketing, communications, media, design or a related field is advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience managing social media channels for brands or businesses.
- Experience managing content across multiple brands or business units is strongly advantageous.
- A portfolio showing examples of social media content, short-form video, design, copywriting or campaigns that you have personally created or managed.
- Experience coordinating agencies, freelancers, photographers, videographers or content creators.
- Experience interpreting social media analytics and using performance insights to improve content.
- Retail, consumer-brand or e-commerce experience would be advantageous.
Technical and creative skillsš
- Strong working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Proficiency in Canva and CapCut, or comparable content creation and video-editing tools.
- The ability to film and edit high-quality social content using a smartphone.
- Strong copywriting, proofreading and storytelling skills.
- Working knowledge of Meta Business Suite and native platform scheduling and analytics tools.
- Adobe Creative Cloud experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling, workflow or reporting platforms is advantageous.
- A practical understanding of user-generated content, content permissions and usage rights.
