Intermediate Estimator – Building Contractor | Cape Town

A well-established medium-sized building contractor based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Intermediate Estimator to join their pre-contracts team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated estimator looking to build a long-term career with a reputable company delivering a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential building projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3-6 years' experience as an Estimator within the building construction industry.
• Proven experience pricing building tenders from first principles.
• CCS (Candy Construction Software) experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and rates.
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings accurately.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Building.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive tender estimates.
• Measure quantities from drawings and specifications.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Compile Bills of Quantities and pricing schedules.
• Analyse project costs and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Assist with tender submissions and post-tender negotiations.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal project teams.
