Data Scientist – (Python, SQL)

Responsibilities

Design, develop, deploy, and optimise machine learning and AI models to solve complex business problems.Build NLP, Generative AI, and computer vision solutions using modern AI frameworks and technologies.Perform data analysis, statistical modelling, and experimentation to generate actionable business insights.Develop dashboards and AI-powered tools to support business decision-making.Automate workflows and integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems and applications.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, production-ready AI solutions.Research emerging AI technologies and continuously improve models, processes, and best practices.Document models, methodologies, and technical solutions to ensure knowledge sharing and reproducibility.Qualifications and experience:

• Honours, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.3–5 years' experience in a Data Science or Applied Machine Learning role.Strong proficiency in Python, SQL (PostgreSQL), and machine learning frameworks such as Tensor
• Flow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.Experience developing and deploying machine learning, NLP, Generative AI, and computer vision solutions.Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG architectures, vector databases, and AI frameworks such as Lang
• Chain, Llama
• Index, Hugging Face, OpenAI API, or Claude.Experience with Docker, AI automation tools, and integrating AI solutions into enterprise applications.Experience with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Zoho CRM integrations, and AI workflow automation tools will be advantageous.The Reference Number for this position is NG61448 which is a Permanent, Hybrid role in Cape Town, offering a salary of up to R800k per annum salary negotiable based on experience.
