General Manager

Now Health International is seeking a dynamic and commercially driven General Manager to lead our Hong Kong business, with a strong focus on Sales & Distribution within the IPMI (International Private Medical Insurance) sector.

This is a regulated role, requiring an individual with the appropriate experience, credentials, and a deep understanding of the Hong Kong insurance regulatory landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, strengthening broker and partner relationships, and leading high-performing teams to deliver exceptional results.

Overview

To establish and develop an intermediary distribution network. To develop a client base (both direct and intermediated) and achieve profitable sales growth in accordance with agreed targets. Provide senior leadership of revenue generating positions across the Hong KongSales & Distribution:

• The acquisition of intermediated and direct new business opportunities, and the establishment of an extensive distribution network of insurance brokers and intermediaries
• Relationship management as necessary to maximize revenue return
• Awareness of the performance of specific accounts ensuring targets are met in accordance with the business plan
• Manage and align clients and distributors expectations of service standards
• Identify and capitalise on marketing and selling opportunities
• Contribute to the marketing strategies including advertising, Public relations and brand awareness, merchandising, and sales tools
• Contribute to the design and marketing of the company’s healthcare products
• Help develop Customer Service and operations staff to nurture close relationships with brokers and clients
• To report on the results of the area under control as required and to make appropriate recommendations to maximize income and achieve/maintain profitability
• Maintain detailed awareness of competitors activity, products and pricing and provide this feedback to the product and underwriting teams
• Leadership:
• Develop and manage a team of sales and business development professionals
• Partner with the GM and the group senior management to provide recommendations to address the reputation and challenges in the HK market
• Proactively engage the Hong Kong teams in order retain and stabilise top talent
• Represent the Hong Kong office at various forums
• Set revenue and sales targets for the BD and account management employees based in Hong Kong
• Experience

Required

• Substantial sales experience within the financial services or insurance sector in Hong Kong
• Varied distribution channel experience including agency model exposure
• A track record of successfully researching, analysing and capitalising upon new business opportunities
• Strong client management skills and ability to keep promises
• Able to demonstrable full knowledge of the sales process
• Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation
• A positive attitude to dealing with people
• Capable of working independently and taking individual ownership
• Business level written and spoken English is essential; additional local language capabilities are advantageous.
