Business Development Manager - Penang Branch (Fresh Graduate is welcome!)

Job Objectives

Business Development Manager is responsible for strategic planning and direction, ensuring effective and efficient administration of business operations, and maintaining compliance with regulations and corporate governance. Success in this role involves driving gross written premium growth, agency recruitment, and renewal retention, while managing expenses and ensuring high employee and customer satisfaction.

The Business Unit Head also builds and empowers a high-performing team, ensuring effective succession planning and regular communication of key imperatives. In overall, the role contributes to the overall operational efficiency and success of the business unit, aligning with the company’s commitment to excellence and regulatory standards.

Individual Responsibilities

Internal Management

•Develop and monitor production

•Develop agency force

•Regular visit to business partners and collect submission & payment

•Manage agent's statement of accounts

•Conduct simple fire survey

•Continuous effort to train new & existing agents and other business partners

•Respond to various requests from customers/agents/HQ

Business Operations

•Ensure effective and efficient administration of day-to-day business operations in line with SOP across all support functions

Compliance

•Ensure consistency with enterprise risk management guidelines

•Ensure compliance with regulations and laws

•Ensure good corporate governance is practiced and are being exercised by the branch

People Management

•Build an organization that attracts and retain talents to ensure critical business processes are highly efficient and effective

•Assemble and empower a high performing team.

•Ensure regular communication of key imperatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 3 - 4 years' prior industry related business development experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven knowledge and execution of successful development strategies
• Focused and goal-oriented
