Construction Manager (Tool Install)

Job Role

Exentec Services Malaysia is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead the successful execution of Semiconductor Tool Install (TI) projects. This role is ideal for a highly motivated construction professional with a strong Mechanical or Electrical engineering background and proven experience managing tool installation activities in semiconductor manufacturing facilities.

As the Construction Manager, you will oversee site construction activities from planning through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while coordinating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities for semiconductor Tool Install projects.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage construction execution to achieve project milestones and client expectations.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards.
• Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Hook-Up, and facility interface activities throughout project execution.
• Review construction drawings, work packages, installation methodologies, and project schedules.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, resolve construction issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage equipment delivery, rigging, installation sequencing, utility tie-ins, and turnover activities.
• Ensure compliance with cleanroom protocols, EHS regulations, and client-specific standards.
• Lead daily coordination meetings, progress reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Support commissioning, punch list management, project close-out, and final handover documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of construction management experience, with significant involvement in semiconductor Tool Install projects.
• Proven experience managing construction activities within semiconductor fabrication facilities or cleanroom environments.
• Strong Mechanical or Electrical engineering background is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of Tool Install processes, cleanroom construction, facility systems, and equipment installation.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety, quality management, and project controls.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling software is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting leading semiconductor manufacturers or EPC projects.
• Knowledge of semiconductor facility systems, including HVAC, Process Mechanical, Electrical, DI Water, Process Cooling Water, Exhaust, Specialty Gas, and Chemical systems.
• Experience managing projects through construction, tool installation, and commissioning phases.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent are an advantage.
