Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Residential Care Facility Caregiver/Assistant House Manager Supports, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, comprehensive care to residents with diverse needs. This energetic position involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and supporting the overall operation of the care home.

You will be a key supporter in creating a warm, safe, and engaging environment that promotes independence and dignity for all residents. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring long-term care and support.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
• Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and documentation procedures
• Provide compassionate dementia and Alzheimer's care, implementing memory care strategies to enhance quality of life
• Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and repositioning
• Engage residents in social activities, group outings, and recreational programs to promote socialization and mental stimulation
• Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas in accordance with health standards
• Communicate effectively with residents’ families and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and updates
• Follow safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and safe patient lifting practices
• Support the operation of the facility by assisting with light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and transportation as needed

Skills

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care settings is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of dementia, memory care, Alzheimer's disease, and cognitive disabilities
• Proficiency in vital signs measurement, medication administration, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
• Ability to operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation purposes
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or geriatrics is preferred
• Skilled in manual handling techniques including safe patient lifting practices and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
• Excellent communication skills for engaging clients effectively while maintaining professionalism and empathy
• Capable of heavy lifting and physical activity required for resident transfers or facility maintenance tasks
