Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to develop, deploy and enhance forecasting solutions within a growing technology environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise machine learning models, with a particular focus on time-series forecasting.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and commercially useful insights.
• Evaluate model performance and introduce improvements to increase accuracy, reliability and scalability.
• Work with engineering colleagues to deploy models into production environments.
• Establish appropriate processes for model monitoring, retraining and ongoing maintenance.
• Translate technical outputs into clear recommendations for customers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure machine learning solutions align with business and customer requirements.
• Contribute to the development of engineering standards, tools and best practices as the team expands.
• Experience

Required

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist or closely related role.

Demonstrable experience delivering multiple machine learning projects involving time-series forecasting.

Strong knowledge of machine learning principles, statistical modelling and model evaluation techniques.

Proficiency in Python and commonly used machine learning libraries.

Experience preparing, processing and analysing structured datasets.

Previous involvement in deploying or supporting machine learning models in production.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings clearly to customers and business stakeholders.

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative technical team.

Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices, model monitoring and automated deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of containerisation, orchestration or infrastructure automation tools.
• Experience working with computer vision models.
• Understanding of data engineering processes and scalable data pipelines.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing technical position.
• Interest in progressing towards a technical leadership or engineering management role.

Requirements

• A third-level degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or a related discipline.A postgraduate qualification in a relevant technical subject would be beneficial but is not essential.
