Southwind, owners of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, is growing yet again and looking to add a General Manager at our Boston South office located in Smithfield, RI! Position: General Manager

Location: Smithfield, RI

Pay Range

$170,000 - $180,000 total compensation (base salary + quarterly bonus)

The Role

Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence

As the General Manager, you are the CEO of the Boston South market. You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and boots-on-the-ground execution. Your mission is to scale the brand by optimizing a fleet of trucks, leading a massive field team, and ensuring every customer experience is "World Class."

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Vision & P&L Ownership

• Drive Profitability: Take full ownership of the P&L, managing budgets, labor costs, and operational expenses to hit aggressive EBITDA targets.
• Strategic Planning: Translate Southwind’s national vision into local actionable goals. You aren't just following a playbook; you're writing the Boston and Rhode Island chapter.

2. Operational Command

• Fleet & Logistics: Oversee the lifecycle of our fleet, ensuring safety standards, maintenance schedules, and route density are optimized for maximum revenue per truck.
• Execution: Maintain high standards of "visual equity"—ensuring our trucks, uniforms, and equipment reflect the premium nature of the brand.

3. People Leadership & Culture Building

• Recruit & Retain: Build a pipeline of front line teammates and operations talent. You are responsible for identifying talent and coaching them into future leaders.
• Mentorship: Conduct regular 1-on-1s and "Ride-Alongs" to provide real-time feedback and maintain a pulse on the frontline culture.
• Accountability: Foster an environment where "Ownership" is a core value and results are celebrated.

4. Sales & Market Growth

• Local Marketing: Partner with the marketing team to execute "Guerilla Marketing" tactics and local community engagement.
• Commercial Partnerships: Identify and land local B2B accounts (Property Managers, Realtors, Construction) to diversify revenue streams.

Qualifications & Requirements

We are looking for a "Pro" who is comfortable in both a boardroom and a truck bay.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field (Master’s/MBA is a plus).
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive leadership experience. Preference is given to those with backgrounds in multi-unit operations, logistics, waste management, or high-volume service industries.
• Grit: A proven track record of managing "blue-collar" workforces and the ability to lead by example.
• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in using data to drive decisions (KPI tracking, conversion rates, and labor percentages).
