Welcome to the City of Honolulu! We are currently seeking a highly motivated Transportation Planning Engineer to join our team. As a Transportation Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing transportation plans and policies to improve the mobility and safety of our city.

Develop and implement transportation plans and policies that align with the city's goals and priorities.
Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to gather data, analyze trends, and make informed recommendations for transportation improvements.
Conduct research and stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in transportation planning.
Use advanced software and techniques to design and simulate transportation systems and solutions.
Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to effectively communicate transportation plans and strategies to city officials, community members, and other stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of transportation plans and policies, and make adjustments as needed.
Work closely with engineers, designers, and contractors to ensure transportation projects are completed on time and within budget.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to transportation planning and engineering.
Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support to other city departments and agencies on transportation-related matters.
Act as a liaison between the city and other external organizations, such as state and federal agencies, to coordinate and secure funding for transportation projects.
Proactively identify and address potential transportation issues and provide creative solutions to improve mobility and safety.
Contribute to the development and management of the city's long-term transportation plans and budgets.
Participate in community outreach and engagement initiatives to gather feedback and input from residents on transportation issues.
Mentor and train junior staff members to develop their skills and knowledge in transportation planning and engineering.
Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation related to transportation planning activities.
