Caregiver / Support Worker - Oxfordshire - Full Time / Part Time

Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care to individuals in assisted living, and home care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the well-being, independence, and comfort of clients with diverse needs, including those requiring specialised dementia, Alzheimer's, or hospice care.

Applicants must be based in Oxfordshire (Wantage, Witney, Oxford, Abingdon, Didcot, Faringdon, Lechlade and Burford) If you are not within these areas, your application will NOT be considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized care, including assistance with daily activities such as personal care, bathing, dressing, and mobility support
• Assist with medication following prescribed protocols
• Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required
• Manage behaviour effectively and employ behaviour management techniques to ensure safety and comfort
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment
• Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living space
• Drive clients to appointments or outings when necessary, adhering to all safety regulations
• Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when needed
• Support clients with activities of daily living in various settings including home care, nursing homes, or hospice environments

Qualifications

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is highly desirable but we welcome anyone with no experience.
• Knowledge of dementia care, and hospice support is advantageous.
• Relevant skills include caregiving, medication administration, behaviour management, and first aid certification.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or equipment handling.
• Valid UK Driving Licence for transporting clients safely and your own Car.
• Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends if necessary

Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour
