We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established logistics and distribution business with three strategically located warehouses totalling over 30,000 sq ft in Reading.

With a workforce that flexes between 50 and 100 staff , including warehouse operatives, in-house drivers, and subcontracted logistics providers, this is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned operator ready to step into a pivotal leadership role.

Our client is entering a period of exciting transformation, with plans to implement a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) in the next 12 months. Experience in WMS deployment or optimisation will be highly advantageous.

The Opportunity

As Regional Manager , youll take ownership of warehouse and transport operations across all three sites. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and/or Commercial Director , this is a hands-on, commercially focused role with full P&L responsibility . Your leadership will directly impact efficiency, service delivery, and ongoing growth across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily logistics and warehousing operations across three Reading-based sites
• Lead planning and execution of transport and warehouse strategies
• Manage the full regional P&L, ensuring operational efficiency and financial performance
• Drive continuous improvement across service, systems, and layout optimisation
• Support the roll-out and integration of the new WMS platform
• Build and develop strong teams and effective cross-departmental collaboration (Sales, Procurement, Finance)
• Ensure full compliance with UK transport legislation, health & safety, and internal standards

What Were Looking For

• Significant leadership experience in warehouse, transport, or logistics operations
• Proven success managing budgets and driving commercial outcomes
• Knowledge of WMS, inventory systems, and logistics planning
• Confident team leader with strong communication and people management skills
• Organised, strategic thinker with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

Desirable Qualifications

• Transport CPC, IOSH, or NEBOSH certifications
• Degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain, or operational management
