Joint Venture and Contracts Audit, Accounting Career Opportunity

Our client is a tech-enabled business critical services group providing audit, accounting and advisory solutions globally from offices across the UK. They have an opportunity for a new starter in Joint Venture and Contracts Audit and Accounting to join their Upstream Oil and Gas team in Aberdeen to deliver specialist accounting and auditing services to clients.

About the role

This role would suit an enthusiastic and hard-working individual, looking to further their accounting or auditing career in this specialist area. Reporting to the senior team, they will support the delivery of audits and other regular assurance work, as well as specialist projects, for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key aspects of the role include

• Delivering specialist upstream oil and gas audit and accounting support to North Sea and international clients;
• Completing financial reporting, joint venture and contract audit, statutory audit, corporate finance, cloud accounting and financial systems implementation;
• Support a variety of client projects, working in the office or on-site with clients as required;
• Working with multiple functional leads across multi-disciplinary teams in areas, such as statutory audit, financial reporting and due diligence, and completion statement preparation and review;
• Assisting senior team members with ad hoc project work as required.

The ideal person

The ideal candidate will have relevant professional qualifications, or equivalent experience, with at least one year’s experience working in a similar role. They will also have experience in upstream oil and gas accounting, gained either in an oil and gas operator or professional practice.

They will have strong technical skills and ability in areas such as JV and contract audit, assurance work and financial reporting. Advanced excel skills would also be an advantage.

The position would suit an excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude and approach. They will be a commercially minded and a dynamic team player, able to plan and prioritise multiple projects and workload commitments. They will also be committed to delivering an excellent client service.
