Consultant and Senior Consultant Real Estate Advisory

Overview We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our Real Estate Advisory team in Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen). You will help clients think strategically about how their buildings could be used to transform the way they work.

This may involve discussions with key decision-makers to understand strategy and vision, using data to provide analysis of real estate portfolios, or developing robust business cases to unlock funding opportunities. The role requires quick thinking to resolve complex problems and meticulous attention to detail. Each client has unique requirements, challenges and goals, so no two projects are the same.

Our Real Estate Advisory team works nationwide across health, education, defence, local government, central government and commercial sectors. We collaborate with senior leaders to unlock the full potential of client real estate assets, developing strategic visions and transforming complex challenges into opportunities for growth, innovation and resilience.

We support public and private sector clients in making informed real estate change and investment decisions through Estate Strategies, Business Cases, Real Estate Asset Management and Workplace Consulting.

Responsibilities

• Collaboration and Problem Solving: work closely with clients to understand their requirements, developing tailored real estate solutions for real problems.
• Research and Analysis: conduct in-depth research and analysis (e.g., feasibility studies) to support the development of business cases and estate solutions.
• Industry Expertise: provide expert advice to clients on the latest real estate and sector industry trends.
• Lead and Inspire: guide multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality and influential solutions on time and to budget.
• Business Generation: develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Scotland, identifying new opportunities and preparing compelling proposals.

• Strong organisational skills; able to manage objectives and resources to meet commercial requirements.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of the UK Real Estate industry; 2-5 years experience in a consultancy and/or client-side environment; proven experience of authoring strategic documentation including Business Cases and/or Estate Strategies for Real Estate change and investment; knowledge of the HM Treasury Green Book 5-Case Model; knowledge of and track record within at least one of Defence, Local Government, Central Government, Healthcare, Education, or Commercial sectors; effective communicator who listens and understands client needs; desirable: relevant industry qualification or degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Surveying or similar; desirable: Security Clearance (SC) or willingness to attain clearance; desirable: leadership experience and a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget; desirable: financial literacy with ability to conduct financial analysis and appraise investment options; desirable: proficiency with Excel and Power BI for data analysis; desirable: understanding of benefits management.
• Must be flexible to travel as required and to work across a range of sectors.
