Staff Nurse (NGN) Mental Health & Learning Disabilities

NHS Grampian is now recruiting Final Year Nursing Students (Learning disabilities/Mental Health Branch) or nurses who are looking for their first registered nurse post since graduating from a UK university. You must be graduating from an NMC approved undergraduate programme. The hours will be 36 hours per week (part time hours available) for a Fixed Term of 1 year.

NHS Grampian has a strong commitment to provide support for new graduate nurses. You will receive:

• 2 weeks minimum supernumerary
• Support to complete Flying Start NHS®
• Preceptorship
• Values Based Reflective Practice

Loirston Ward is an assessment and treatment ward, which provides care for adults who have learning disabilities and complex mental health needs. The ward is part of, and located within, NHS Grampian’s Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Service.

Applicants should have a caring and compassionate nature and have a genuine interest in working in a specialist learning disability inpatient setting. The successful candidates will be expected to work a rotational shift pattern which includes day and night shift duties (once completed their flying start), and must be flexible to work across all service areas within the Learning Disability In-Patient service.
