Practice Nurse

Locums First is looking for Practice Nurses to support a welcoming GP practice in Aberdeen.

You will work as part of a stable nursing team with strong administrative coordination and sensible clinic templates, allowing you to deliver high-quality long-term condition care and treatment room work with confidence.

Up to 2 days a week available with flexible scheduling.

Role Snapshot

• A Practice Nurse role combining treatment room duties with structured chronic disease activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver chronic disease reviews including asthma, COPD, diabetes and hypertension as appropriate
• Provide treatment room services including wound care, dressings and ear care where competent
• Administer immunisations and vaccinations in line with guidance and PGDs where applicable
• Perform cervical cytology if trained and up to date
• Undertake health promotion, lifestyle advice and patient education
• Maintain accurate records, coding and recall actions on the clinical system
• Work collaboratively with the nursing and GP team to support safe, efficient clinics

Requirements

• NMC registration with recent UK primary care practice nursing experience
• Competence in chronic disease management and core treatment room skills
• Cytology qualification desirable where relevant to the booking
• Knowledge of safeguarding, cold chain, infection control and clinical governance
• Ability to use a GP clinical system confidently with strong documentation standards
• Right to work in the UK and compliance documents for prompt onboarding

Working Pattern

• Part-time sessions available up to 2 days per week
• Flexible options for regular weekly clinics or ad hoc shifts to cover demand
• Daytime working with agreed clinic lengths and protected time for documentation
