Bumi Armada UK Limited (BAUK) currently have a permanent staff opportunity for a Deck Foreman / LOLER Competent Person to join the team onboard the Armada Kraken FPSO on a 3:4:3:5 rotational pattern.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for managing deck activities and supervising lifting operations on the installation and ensuring they are carried out in accordance with LOLER and the Company's lifting procedures.
Deck Foreman
- Supervise daily operations of the Deck Crew and actively lead the team in all safety initiatives and programmes.
- Ensure essential service equipment, for example rigging, scaffolding and associated helideck equipment, is maintained for maximum availability.
- Assist in the control of materials movement by air and sea and ensure good housekeeping and waste management.
- Carry out HLO duties including heli-fuel operations and associated paperwork.
- Ensure completion of relevant deck maintenance routines under the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Carry out safety checks on the helideck area and ensure the work conditions and environment are maintained in a safe condition.
- Ensure safe working practices at all times by crew and third parties and conduct audits to establish that safe and best practice is implemented.
- Ensure that any defects in working practices, machinery, tools, equipment, protective measures and protective clothing are highlighted immediately.
- Assist with confined space entry preparations and workscopes.
- Provide crew training as required, for example helideck training.
- Maintain a comprehensive handover log.
LOLER Competent Person
- Develop, review and approve all lifting operations, lifting plans and risk assessments except those that are classified as "complex".
- Determine suitable levels of supervision for complex lifts and assume role of Lifting Operations leader as required.
- Liaise with appropriate departments to ensure effective planning and approvals for lifting operations.
- Conduct and participate in toolbox talks and carrying out the role of Performing Authority as required.
- Ensure all personnel involved in lifting operations meet the minimum competence standards through regular conversations and observing lifting operations and individuals' performance.
- Ensure all lifting equipment and on-site rigging lofts are fully certified in compliance with company lifting procedure and industry standards.
- Carry out audits on lifting operations to ensure compliance with company lifting procedures and LOLER.
- Identify and propose ideas and solutions to relevant management that will increase efficiency without compromising integrity.
- Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and crew-change.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace.
- Complete site-specific lifting inductions for new starts and ensure they are adequately coached and supervised whilst their competence and capability are verified.
