Mechanical Engineer Ship Repair / Marine Engineering A well-established marine engineering and ship repair organisation is looking to recruit experienced Mechanical Engineers to join their skilled workforce at their Aberdeen shipyard facility.

The Role

Working within a busy dry dock and ship repair yard, the Mechanical Engineer will support mechanical maintenance, repair and installation work across a range of vessels and marine equipment. You will work closely with experienced engineering teams carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting and mechanical repair activities within the shipyard environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical repair and maintenance work on vessels and marine equipment Support ship repair and overhaul projects within a dry dock environment Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Assist with installation and replacement of mechanical components and systems Work safely within a heavy engineering and shipyard environment Collaborate with foremen, supervisors and wider engineering teams

Requirements

• Mechanical engineering or heavy engineering experience Experience working within shipyards, marine engineering, offshore, fabrication, or similar heavy industrial environments is beneficial Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding engineering environment Willingness to work overtime and weekend shifts when required Strong attitude towards health and safety Full UK driving licence Right to work in the UK A formal engineering degree is not required.
