Legal Counsel – UK & Commonwealth

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to represent TRON Group’s legal interests in the United Kingdom and across relevant Commonwealth jurisdictions.

This role will be based in the UK and act as the key legal advisor for all UK-related business activities, including corporate governance, compliance, contracts, and interactions with UK government bodies. The position also includes oversight of legal matters concerning the Pitcairn Islands and other affiliated projects within the region, ensuring compliance with UK and Commonwealth legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

General Legal Advisory

• Serve as the principal legal contact for all TRON Group matters based in the UK and Commonwealth jurisdictions.
• Provide comprehensive legal advice to management on UK company law, commercial contracts, employment regulations, and data protection matters.
• Support the establishment and structuring of TRON’s UK legal entities and business operations.

Government & Regulatory Liaison

• Act as liaison with UK government agencies, regulatory authorities, and external legal advisors on compliance and licensing matters.
• Ensure all TRON activities comply with UK, EU, and Commonwealth regulations, including financial, corporate, and data protection requirements.
• Oversee submissions and communications with relevant UK departments concerning TRON’s overseas development or blockchain-related initiatives.

Contracts & Documentation

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including service agreements, NDAs, consultancy contracts, and partnership MOUs.
• Maintain consistency and compliance with UK legal standards and internal governance frameworks.
• Provide clear risk assessments and mitigation strategies for cross-border agreements involving UK entities.

Commonwealth & Island Legal Oversight

• Oversee the legal and compliance framework for TRON’s activities in Pitcairn Islands and related territories.
• Provide legal guidance for development, infrastructure, and community projects carried out under UK/Commonwealth jurisdictions.
• Conduct periodic site visits to ensure compliance and address any emerging legal matters on-site.

Risk Management & Dispute Resolution

• Identify potential legal risks across TRON’s UK and regional operations and recommend preventive measures.
• Manage and coordinate dispute resolution, claims, or regulatory inquiries as needed.
• Support the executive team in ensuring legal transparency and accountability across projects.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with a valid practising certificate in the United Kingdom.
• Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within corporate, commercial, or government advisory fields.
• Must be UK citizen and permanently based in the UK.
• Strong command of UK company law, contract law, and compliance requirements.
• Prior exposure to Commonwealth or government-related projects preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-border or international legal matters independently.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders, including government officials, external counsel, and internal management teams.
• Occasional international travel (1–2 times per year) may be required for project oversight.

Salary: GBP 43200 - 72000 per year
