Sharp Payroll Service is a fast-growing, full-service payroll processing firm serving 750+ businesses throughout New Jersey. We are seeking a detail-oriented, client-focused Payroll Specialist to join our busy, expanding team. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday, in-office position. We provide comprehensive training on our payroll software.

The Payroll Specialist plays a central role in ensuring our clients’ payrolls are processed accurately, on time, and with exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Collect, review, and organize daily/weekly/monthly timesheets.
Process payroll accurately using our payroll software.
Calculate bonuses, allowances, and special pay items.
Prepare and schedule direct deposits and bank payments.
Maintain payroll records and prepare reports as needed.
Enter and update employee data in internal systems.
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients and their employees.
Identify and resolve discrepancies quickly and professionally.
Compile payroll expense summaries and reports for management when necessary.

Skills

Proven work experience in payroll, accounting, or a related field preferred.
Strong client service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
High level of confidentiality, integrity, and trustworthiness.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bookkeeping experience is a plus (not required).
Must be able to commute to our Point Pleasant, NJ office.
