Position

Spring Bank is currently seeking a Teller for our new Brooklyn branch which will be located at 445 Grand Avenue (corner of Grand and Fulton). Tellers are responsible for handling customer financial transactions accurately, providing excellent customer service, and promoting bank products. Upon hire, training for this role will be provided at the Spring Bank headquarters in the Bronx.

Once training is completed, this position will be regularly located at the new Brooklyn branch. This is a full-time, on-site, non-exempt role. This position is 100% on-site.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Process a variety of customer-initiated monetary transactions and check-cashing at the window as required, ensuring branch service is executed at the highest level while also maintaining accurate records.
• Share and offer customers the Banks' products and services in response to customer needs.
• Respond to customer questions and concerns (either in person or over the phone) and refer to the appropriate internal resources for resolution.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Bank's products and services and applicable Federal regulations, including Bank Secrecy and Know Your Customer principles.
• Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company and regulatory standards, policies and practices;
• Identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential losses.
• Stay up-to-date on new products and services and maintain awareness of current fraud alerts.
• Ensure all functions are completed within stated guidelines.

Requirements

• One to three years of experience as a Bank Teller or as a Teller in a check-cashing business.
• Must have exceptional, friendly, and upbeat customer service skills with an outgoing personality.
• Must work toward having a well-rounded understanding of the Bank and the services offered.
• Must be a proactive team-player.
• Excellent basic math skills and strong computer skills.
• Must have the ability to maintain a balanced drawer.
• Must be reliable, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Bilingual or Multilingual preferred but not required
• Must be able to commute to Brooklyn on a daily basis
• Experience with teller software applications (FIS-Horizon)

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer.

Hourly Rate

$31.50; opportunity for annual bonus
