Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, professional Delivery Driver to support wholesale deliveries throughout the Hudson Valley and surrounding New York markets.
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and accurately transporting regulated cannabis products from the distribution facility to licensed dispensary partners. This position plays an important role in delivering a reliable, organized, and white-glove customer experience.
The ideal candidate is punctual, detail-oriented, comfortable driving for extended periods, and able to represent the company professionally when interacting with dispensary staff. This role requires careful handling of products, accurate documentation, strong communication, and strict adherence to all company procedures and New York State cannabis regulations.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDelivery Execution
- Complete assigned wholesale delivery routes safely, accurately, and on schedule.
- Pick up products, invoices, manifests, and other required delivery materials before departing.
- Confirm that all products and quantities match the assigned invoice and delivery documentation.
- Deliver products only to authorized, licensed dispensary locations and approved recipients.
- Obtain all required signatures, confirmations, and delivery documentation.
- Maintain the security and integrity of products throughout the delivery process.
- Immediately report delivery delays, route changes, accidents, product discrepancies, or customer concerns.
- Follow approved routes and communicate promptly when unexpected changes occur.
- Return all signed paperwork, undelivered products, payments, and required documentation at the end of each route.
Customer Service
- Provide courteous, professional, and respectful service during every dispensary interaction.
- Represent the company in a polished and responsible manner.
- Communicate arrival times and delivery updates according to company procedures.
- Confirm the identity and authorization of the individual receiving the delivery.
- Direct product, invoice, sales, return, credit, or merchandising questions to the appropriate internal team.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding customers, delivery routes, products, and company operations.
Product Handling and Accuracy
- Load, organize, transport, and unload products carefully.
- Confirm that products remain secure and protected from loss, damage, contamination, or unauthorized access.
- Maintain accurate chain-of-custody records and required delivery documentation.
- Report damaged, missing, incorrect, or rejected products immediately.
- Do not substitute, exchange, or leave products without proper authorization.
- Follow all procedures for returned or refused products.
- Keep delivery materials and products organized by stop to reduce errors and delays.
Vehicle and Route Management
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean, organized, and presentable.
- Report mechanical issues, warning lights, damage, or maintenance concerns promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws, parking regulations, and company vehicle policies.
- Use approved route-planning and navigation tools.
- Monitor fuel levels and other basic vehicle needs throughout the route.
- Do not permit unauthorized passengers or materials in the delivery vehicle.
- Never use a handheld phone while operating the vehicle.
Documentation and Compliance
- Follow all applicable New York State cannabis transportation and delivery requirements.
- Maintain accurate invoices, manifests, delivery logs, payment records, and chain-of-custody documentation.
- Protect confidential customer and company information.
- Follow all security, product-handling, cash-handling, and incident-reporting procedures.
- Immediately report any suspected theft, loss, diversion, security concern, or regulatory issue.
- Complete required training and remain current on company policies and delivery procedures.
Payments and Returns
- Collect approved payments when required and follow all payment-handling procedures.
- Verify payment amounts and documentation before leaving the dispensary.
- Securely maintain payments during the route and return them according to company procedures.
- Transport approved returns only when properly documented and authorized.
- Do not accept undocumented products, returns, exchanges, or credits from a customer.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age, as required for the responsibilities of this position within the regulated cannabis industry.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe and acceptable driving record.
- Previous professional driving, courier, delivery, logistics, or route-service experience is preferred.
- Ability to drive for extended periods and complete multiple delivery stops in one day.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow established schedules and procedures.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable using GPS, mobile applications, email, and electronic delivery systems.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with the distribution team.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused when delays or delivery issues occur.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Ability to work early mornings, extended days, or occasional schedule changes based on delivery needs.
- Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload packages and delivery materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must successfully complete all required background, motor-vehicle, and employment screenings.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent driving, entering and exiting a vehicle, standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and handling delivery materials. The employee must be able to safely load and unload products and perform the physical responsibilities of the position throughout the workday.
Professional Standards
The Delivery Driver is expected to maintain a clean, professional appearance and provide a respectful, dependable experience to every dispensary partner. Personal phone use, smoking, vaping, cannabis consumption, alcohol use, or impairment of any kind is strictly prohibited while working or operating a company vehicle.
Any changes to the assigned schedule, route, or delivery plan must be communicated promptly and in writing to the appropriate supervisor.
