Visible Men Academy is a public, all-boys charter school serving students from Manatee and Sarasota Counties. Our mission is to provide outstanding academic, character, and social education in a nurturing school environment.

We are entering a period of strategic growth and transition, and we are seeking a certified ESE / Intervention / Resource Teacher who is results oriented and committed to an unwavering commitment to the success of every student.
Knowledge of MTSS, RtI, progress monitoring, and Exceptional Student Education programs and services. Skilled in verbal and written communicating and active listening. To serve as a case manager to support the implementation of the IEP and 504 processes in accordance with federal, state, and district regulations.
Knowledge of and skill in compliance issues regarding MTSS, RtI, progress monitoring, Exceptional Student Education programs and paperwork. Ability to plan classroom instruction, implement activities for maximum effectiveness, and teach a few specials periods per day. Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze test results, and prescribe actions for improvement.
Ability to consistently maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe and orderly environment in which to learn.
Conduct and monitor initial placements to assure that all necessary documentation is in place prior to a student being staffed and/or identified for 504 or Exceptional Student Education services.
Function as Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team leader. Responsible for progress monitoring and assistance to regular education classroom teachers in implementing appropriate interventions for students. Compile and disaggregate the data regularly. Assist in providing classroom observations and assessments of students.
Maintain and update a list of ESE / 504 / intervention students, their program placements, and other accountability data. Verify attendance rosters and any incidental tasks related to FTE as required and scheduled.
Assist with the completion of all data collection and any changes to the schedule to ensure student schedules reflect all services listed.
Assist in coordinating articulation meetings for pre-kindergarten and fifth grade students moving to kindergarten and middle school programs.
Provide parent information regarding parental safeguards, ESE / 504 / intervention programs, and community agencies.
Work with the principal and instructional coach to assess the training needs of staff and to provide training to meet the needs of the students seen.
Develop appropriate quality Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), including determining present levels of performance, measurable annual goals (with benchmarks and/ or short-term objectives), and appropriate classroom/testing accommodations.
Collect and monitor appropriate and aligned student performance data to include in Present Levels of Performance, adjust specially designed instruction, identify goal needs and report student progress toward goals. Interpret data for diagnosis, instructional planning and program evaluation.
Collaborative mindset for building and maintaining positive relationships with all team members.
Knowledge of best practices and pedagogy for research-based individual skill acquisition, learning styles accommodations, and modifications to instructional delivery surrounding the demonstration of appropriate learning gains.
Active participation in professional learning.
Collaborate with general education teachers and services providers regularly to effectively design specially designed instruction and least restrictive service delivery model.
Support general education teachers in implementing appropriate accommodations or strategies and assist in developing appropriate interventions for students below grade level. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the instructional environment.
Schedule and facilitate all necessary meetings with parents and appropriate school/agency personnel, including understanding and explaining Procedural Safeguards.
Serve as Local Education Agency (LEA) Representative, if designated by administrator.
Plan and deliver meaningful, engaging, and differentiated instruction designed to assist students in mastering state standards.
Actively participate in a leadership role and help planning and improvement.
Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous.
Maintain a positive, collaborative, organized and safe learning environment.
Prepare all required reports and establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures that comply with the school, state and federal procedures.
Assist in enforcement of school rules, administrative regulations, and Board of Director policies. Provide a positive environment using effective student behavior management techniques.
Utilize effective progress monitoring strategies and analyze data to plan for and adjust specially designed instruction based on student needs.
Oversee and establish appropriate testing environment, and test security for the school.
Use a multimedia approach utilizing a variety of materials and equipment to meet the needs of students, including assistive devices. Use appropriate materials, technology, and resources to help meet learning needs of all students.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents and the community.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Directors policy on the evaluation of personnel.
