Carlyle's Global Funds Legal team provides well-reasoned, concise advice on current, proposed or anticipated business activities of Carlyle and our funds, balancing business-oriented goals with legal and reputational risk.
The attorney would be a part of the Legal team, providing legal support for the firm's wealth-focused investment products across all investment strategies. This role will advise on and support the launch and structuring of Carlyle's wealth-focused funds, with a focus on new product development, fund formation, fund structuring, fund governance and operational matters across Carlyle's wealth platform.
The attorney will advise on both private funds and registered investment products offered through the wealth channel and will work closely with business, product development, investor relations, finance, compliance and operations teams across the firm.
The role will involve significant interaction with third-party service providers and distribution partners, including transfer agents, distributors, placement agents, selected dealers, administrators and other intermediaries supporting Carlyle's wealth business.
Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing regulatory filings and offering documents and drafting, negotiating and interpreting limited partnership agreements, distribution agreements and related fund documents across both private funds and regulated '40 Act funds. The attorney will also work on other miscellaneous internal regulatory issues.
This position will also act as a liaison between Carlyle and outside counsel.
This position can be in Washington, DC or New York, NY.

The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, DC and New York, NY and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $200,00 to $250,000.
In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs.
Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
