Senior Project Engineer

As the bridge between Project Management and Production, the Senior Project Engineer leads the design and execution of how a custom project will be fabricated.

Responsibilities

Assist Sales in design development of complex projects for architects, artists, designers and corporate clients

Assist Estimating in reviewing complex projects to determine material costs and projected time to complete a project.

Meet with Project Manager, Sales, and Estimating to discuss kick-off of 3D project files and ensure that all the Sales requirements are met.

Work with Project Manager and CAD Drafter to develop and review product design prior to submission to the client.

Communicates with clients to understand or review project details and client goals when needed.

Create 3D Models and 2D drawings for projects and internal use and client submittal.

Develop and create the design of the project mold.

Create 3D Models of the mold design in Fusion 360.

Coordinate with Project Management, Production Management, Mill Operator, and all fabrication staff to develop a strategic mold design.

Create fabrication parts list/ cut sheets for the building of the molds.

Create prototypes that test and troubleshoot potential designs.

Develop a production schedule and fabrication strategy with the Production Manager and Mill Operator for the building of the molds.

Create and generate tool paths for mold components for the Operator to mill.

Oversee the execution and quality of the mold build.

Perform quality control inspections.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or similar.

5+ years of experience in Project Engineer, Project Manager, or similar role.

Proficient in Fusion 360 for modeling and CAM.

Knowledgeable in the operation of 3 axis CNC.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Good communicator, detail orientated, and a team leader.
