Vice President of IT & SecurityGreater Boston Area (Onsite 5 Days/Week)

Compensation

$225,000–$300,000 Base + BonusVice President of IT & Security to serve as the organization's senior technology and cybersecurity leader.

This is a highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the executive team. The successful candidate will own the firm's technology strategy while remaining hands-on with day-to-day operations. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing executive-level planning with direct technical execution and employee support.

Unlike larger organizations with extensive internal IT departments, this role works closely with managed service providers while maintaining ownership and accountability for all technology and security outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Technology Leadership
• Develop and execute the firm's technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Serve as the primary technology advisor to executive leadership.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, including AI solutions that improve productivity and operational efficiency.
• Manage IT budgets, technology standards, policies, and strategic initiatives.
• IT Operations
• Oversee all internal technology operations while managing third-party MSP and MSSP partners.
• Support approximately 75+ employees across Microsoft 365, Windows, mobile devices, SaaS applications, networking, and collaboration platforms.
• Lead employee onboarding and offboarding, device management, software deployment, and access management.
• Provide executive-level support while remaining willing to troubleshoot hands-on when needed.
• Cybersecurity
• Lead the organization's cybersecurity strategy and security program.
• Manage incident response, vulnerability management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and security awareness initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices and security frameworks such as NIST and CIS Controls.
• Oversee identity management, endpoint security, mobile device management, and cloud security.
• Vendor & Portfolio Oversight
• Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, MSPs, and MSSPs. Evaluate service providers to ensure they are delivering the highest level of support and value.
• Participate in technology and cybersecurity due diligence for acquisitions and provide strategic guidance across portfolio companies.
• Artificial Intelligence
• Lead the evaluation, governance, and secure adoption of AI technologies across the organization.
• Establish AI usage policies, governance standards, and employee training.

Required Experience

We're looking for someone who has successfully operated as a senior IT leader in a lean, high-performing environment.

• Private Equity Investment Management Financial Services Banking Professional Services (Law, Accounting, Consulting) Technical Experience
• Strong Experience With
• Microsoft 365 Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) Microsoft Intune Windows Administration Apple Business Manager Cloud-first and SaaS environments Identity & Access Management (MFA, Conditional Access) Cybersecurity Operations Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Vendor Management MSP & MSSP Management AI Governance Endpoint Management Microsoft SharePoint Online Microsoft Copilot or Claude AI Networking fundamentals Cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST or CIS Controls Experience with Aruba/Cisco networking and Palo Alto firewalls is highly desirable.
