Role Description

This remote contract role leads client engagements end to end so that quality, schedule, and scope hold without daily founder involvement.

Day-to-day responsibilities include running engagement pods of consultants and engineers, owning weekly client status and phase-gate readiness, making architecture and approach decisions for proofs of concept, holding deliverables to the firm's QA bar, and keeping scope aligned with the statement of work through documented change orders.

The Delivery Lead partners closely with the founder, who retains commercial ownership of every account.

Engagements are typically 8-12 week transformation programs and monthly executive retainers, with the Delivery Lead coordinating a pod of two to four specialists at roughly 15-25 hours per week of activated utilization.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of relevant experience delivering consulting engagements or complex product/technology programs, including 3+ years leading delivery teams, is necessary.
• Candidates should demonstrate strong solutions-architecture judgment across modern web, data, and AI/LLM systems, with the credibility to make and defend technical decisions.
• Candidates should have run client-facing programs with executive stakeholders, including status communication, risk management, and scope control.
• Candidates should be able to review and elevate the work of consultants, engineers, and analysts across disciplines.
• Candidates should have strong written communication and comfort presenting to VP and C-level audiences.
• Prior experience in a boutique consultancy or agency environment is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience. A master's degree is preferred but is not a heavy requirement.

How This Engagement Works (Please Read Before Applying)MJH Consulting is an early-stage boutique firm, and this is a 1099 contract role on the firm's delivery bench. Team members are onboarded now and engaged as client work closes; there is no salary or retainer component.

Compensation is a meaningful share of each engagement's revenue, split across the team that delivers it, with an additional bonus on any client a team member brings in directly. Exact terms are documented in the subcontractor agreement and are reviewed together on the first call.

This structure fits experienced independents who want senior client work with genuine upside alongside their own practice; it is not a fit for candidates who need guaranteed monthly income at this time.

Hiring ProcessAn introductory call with the founder, followed by a case conversation, then agreement, NDA, and security onboarding through the MJH portal. Onboarding to the bench is completed before the first client engagement.
