The Assistant Project Manager will assist in the management of assigned Irish onshore renewable projects (onshore wind, BESS and solar) from initial concept to the point of handover of the project to the Operations Team.
You’ll play an important role in:
Assist the Project Manager in leading and managing multi-disciplinary projects through site investigation, specification production, tender assessment, construction, commissioning, and handover to the Operations Team.
Assist the Project Manager in managing and coordinating the Delivery interface with internal cross functional teams (typically Development, Operations, Commercial etc.) to support the successful delivery of the project.
Deliver on and off site technical and project management support as required by the Project Manager.
Together with Contracts Managers, develop contractor and consultant scopes of works and assist in the technical negotiation of agreements such as electrical and civil construction contracts, turbine supply agreements, solar EPC contracts, and engineering services provider agreements.
Manage technical advisors/consultants/minor contracts as appropriate.
Manage and coordinate the interfaces between the main contractors during the construction phase (typically turbine, solar EPC, BESS Supply, electrical works, civil BoP).
Liaise with external stakeholders and represent the company in a professional manner.
Liaise with internal stakeholders and ensure all corporate policies are fully adhered too.
Produce progress reports as directed by the Project Manager.
Review & monitor contractors’ progress against programme ensuring project milestones are achieved.
Maintain accurate up-to-date project records (weekly action log, project programme, risk register etc.).
Actively identify and manage critical risks, issues, and impacts of the project specifically the adequate application of and adherence to both statutory and business requirements.
Ensure that all site activities and construction works are undertaken to the highest standards of safety and in accordance with all relevant legislation and Perigus Energy’s HSE Management System.
To succeed in the role:
Degree qualification in relevant engineering discipline preferred.
Strong cultural belief in safety and extensive construction management experience.
Working knowledge of health safety & environmental legislation associated with construction projects.
Ability to work with multidisciplinary project stakeholders including local communities, landowners, council representatives, and all internal teams involved in the project delivery.
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and with contractors.
Ability to meet deliverables on target, with attention to detail and understand the technical and regulatory requirements to deliver renewable energy projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills, report writing, and presentation skills.
Excellent personal organisation and time management skills.
Tenacity, persistence, and determination to succeed.
