Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA Qualified Accountant looking to join a progressive firm with genuine long-term career prospects, hybrid working from day one and exposure to a varied portfolio of SME clients.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Practice Manager and take ownership of an established portfolio of clients with turnovers of up to £10 million, providing high-quality accounting, taxation and advisory services.

The firm operates across three UK offices, supported by a team of 20+ UK-based professionals and 20+ offshore staff, offering an excellent platform for career progression.

The Role

Reporting to the Practice Manager, you'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of SME clients whilst delivering a high standard of technical and commercial advice.

You'll become a trusted adviser to your clients and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an established portfolio of SME clients with turnovers up to £10 million.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Prepare and review Corporation Tax and Personal Tax returns.
• Prepare management accounts and VAT returns.
• Advise clients on Directors' Loan Accounts and Loss Relief.
• Review work completed by junior members of the team.
• Build long-term client relationships and act as the primary point of contact.
• Support the Practice Manager with workflow planning and client delivery.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within deadlines.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity you should have

• ACA or ACCA Qualified with full membership (essential).
• Recent UK Accountancy Practice experience.
• Previous experience managing your own portfolio of SME clients.
• Strong technical knowledge of:
• FRS 102
• Corporation Tax
• Personal Tax
• VAT
• VAT Schemes
• Directors' Loan Accounts
• Loss Relief
• Management Accounts
• Statutory Accounts
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• A proactive, commercially aware and personable approach.
• The ability to manage multiple client deadlines in a fast-paced practice environment.

Immediate starters or candidates with short notice periods are highly desirable.
