A highly reputable but discreet algorithmic trading business is expanding into faster, higher frequency trading horizons.

Historically, their execution platform has only needed to deliver for trades around minutely, hourly and weekly bases. They now require a new lower latency ecosystem that will allow them to execute more intraday trades, and in particular intrasecond trades.

While this is about speed, there is an added complexity to the standard 'race to zero' in which HFT firms look to squeeze every nano out of pieces of hardware in an endless competition

These strategies are not market making speed, and so require more algorithmic complexity. The challenge is to execute these trades with speed but doing so with complex and intricate models which are often derived from deep learning or other ML-driven research technique
