As Financial Accountant in Colas Rail UK, you will strengthen the financial control environment and support decision-making with robust reporting. You’ll own balance sheet integrity, fixed asset accounting, and intercompany reconciliations while helping to evolve processes and controls. Pay / Benefits

• Provide confidence over the balance sheet via reconciliations to identify risks and correct errors
• Own Fixed Asset accounting, review policies, and monitor capex budgets
• Conduct process reviews to identify risks and document financial processes
• Coordinate the annual internal audit self-assessment
• Monitor and reconcile intercompany balances
• Produce external reports for bodies such as Cabinet Office and ONS
• Review monthly management accounts and board reports for accuracy
• Support audits and provide technical accounting guidance on standards and HMRC requirements
• Assist the Financial Controller and Senior Financial Accountant with team activities

Tasks

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Takes accountability and meets deadlines without compromising accuracy
• Strong technical accounting knowledge; proactive in staying up to date
• Proficient with key IT tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems) and able to learn new tools (e.g., Alteryx)
• Clear and concise communication of financial concepts
