Marketing Automation Strategist

Job Description

Basic Purpose

This position supports the creation, execution, and optimization of marketing automation efforts across all lines of business. The primary focus of this role is email marketing, customer journey execution, automation workflow development, audience segmentation, email deployment, and campaign execution.

Responsibilities include building and deploying emails, managing marketing lists and subscription preferences, maintaining automated campaigns, and supporting digital engagement initiatives.

Marketing Automation

• Build, execute, and monitor automated workflows and nurture campaigns for content and email distribution.
• Maintain day-to-day scheduling, support, and planning for marketing automation initiatives.
• Assist in developing and optimizing customer journeys to improve engagement and user experience.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into automation solutions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and workflow efficiencies.
• Suggest and implement new approaches to support outreach, lead generation, and customer engagement efforts.

Email Marketing & Audience Management

• Build, test, and deploy email communications using approved marketing automation platforms.
• Develop and administer tests for static and dynamic content, audience segmentation, and A/B testing initiatives.
• Manage audience segmentation and targeting strategies to support campaign effectiveness.
• Maintain subscription management processes and ensure compliance with applicable email marketing regulations and industry requirements.
• Support email deliverability efforts through monitoring sender reputation, list hygiene, segmentation practices, and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot email rendering, coding, personalization, and delivery issues across devices and email clients.
• Utilize HTML and CSS knowledge to build, edit, and troubleshoot email communications.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate audience targeting and campaign execution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in digital marketing, marketing automation, email marketing, CRM marketing, or related disciplines.
• Experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems.
• Experience with ClickDimensions, Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, or similar platforms preferred.
• Knowledge of audience segmentation, personalization, and testing methodologies.
• Understanding of email deliverability concepts, sender reputation management, and subscription preference management.
• Ability to identify workflow automation opportunities and process improvements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
