Senior Product Manager – Wholesale Credit Platform Replatforming Programme

We are undertaking a major transformation of our Wholesale Credit Platform and are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the product strategy, roadmap and delivery of this business-critical replatforming programme.

This is a high-profile role operating at the intersection of business, risk and technology. You will own the product vision from target-state design through build, migration, rollout and legacy decommissioning, ensuring the new platform delivers tangible business outcomes, improved risk management and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Front Office, Credit Risk, Operations and Technology, you will drive a modern, scalable platform that supports faster credit decision-making, stronger data quality and reduced operational risk.

What You'll Be Doing

Product Strategy & Vision

• Define and own the long-term product vision and target-state architecture for the wholesale credit platform.
• Develop and maintain a multi-year product roadmap aligned to Wholesale Lending strategy and organisational objectives.
• Ensure delivery is focused on measurable business, risk and regulatory outcomes.

Product Ownership & Prioritisation

• Translate business, risk and regulatory requirements into a prioritised product backlog.
• Lead backlog management across multiple delivery teams.
• Make informed scope, sequencing and trade-off decisions balancing value, effort and risk.

Agile Delivery Leadership

• Provide product direction across multiple agile squads operating within a SAFe or large-scale agile environment.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Architecture, Data and QA teams.
• Use delivery metrics and customer outcomes to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.

Platform Migration & Transformation

• Own migration strategy including data migration, parallel running, phased rollout and legacy decommissioning.
• Ensure continuity and resilience throughout the transition of a critical risk platform.
• Drive successful cut-over planning and execution.

Stakeholder Management

• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across:
• Front Office and Relationship Management
• Credit Risk
• Operations
• Compliance
• Finance
• Technology
• Internal Audit
• Lead governance forums, steering committees and executive reporting.

Vendor & Partner Management

• Assess build-versus-buy options for platform capabilities.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and delivery partners.
• Ensure roadmap alignment and delivery performance across suppliers.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure all deliveries comply with regulatory, security, audit and change governance requirements.
• Embed appropriate controls without compromising delivery pace.
• Support model governance, data governance and third-party risk requirements.

Value Realisation

• Define and track success metrics and key outcomes.
• Monitor programme benefits, risks and milestones.
• Report progress and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

What We're Looking For

Wholesale Credit Expertise

You'll have strong knowledge of the wholesale or corporate lending lifecycle, including:

• Credit origination
• Credit assessment and rating
• Approval and sanctioning workflows
• Exposure and limit management
• Covenant monitoring
• Annual reviews and renewals

You will also have a practical understanding of regulatory and risk requirements, including:

• Basel III / Basel IV
• Internal Ratings-Based (IRB) frameworks
• IFRS 9 and Expected Credit Loss (ECL)
• Stress testing
• Model governance

Product Management Experience

• Proven experience leading product strategy and roadmaps for large-scale technology transformation or replatforming programmes.
• Strong product ownership and backlog management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise based on business value, delivery effort and risk.

Agile Delivery Leadership

• Experience operating within Agile and/or SAFe environments.
• Track record leading delivery across multiple teams and complex dependencies.
• Strong understanding of outcome-based product management and delivery metrics.

Technical Understanding

• Solid knowledge of modern platform architectures including:
• Cloud technologies
• APIs and microservices
• Event-driven architectures
• Enterprise data platforms
• Experience delivering large-scale data migration and integration programmes.
• Understanding of data lineage, credit data models and single source of truth principles.

Stakeholder & Leadership Skills

• Ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
• Excellent communication skills across business, technology and executive audiences.
• Comfortable operating in complex, ambiguous and highly regulated environments.

Governance & Controls Experience

• Experience delivering technology change within a regulated banking environment.
• Understanding of:

• Third-party risk management

Desirable Experience

• Experience with lending and credit platforms such as nCino, Finastra, Moody's or similar solutions.
• Direct involvement in Basel, IFRS 9 or model governance initiatives.

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
