We're posting this role on behalf of our client, Roboptic.ai, a Taiwanese-founded leader in robotics and intelligent optical systems. Roboptic is opening a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hutto, TX, just outside Austin, and we're partnering closely with their team to help build it out from the ground up.

About the Role

The IT/MES Manager will serve as the senior technology leader for Roboptic's Hutto facility, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the full IT and manufacturing systems infrastructure across production, quality, warehouse, logistics, engineering, and facilities.

This is not a traditional IT manager role. We're looking for a factory technology leader who bridges infrastructure and manufacturing operations — someone who can design a secure, scalable network, manage IT systems, and lead system integration across ERP, MES, WMS, QMS, and shop floor equipment while understanding the realities of factory workflows.

The ideal candidate brings strong infrastructure and networking expertise, hands-on factory IT experience, and the drive to build technology systems for a new manufacturing facility from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage facility IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, workstations, industrial PCs, wireless, firewalls, backups, and endpoint security
• Implement and integrate manufacturing systems such as MES, ERP, WMS, QMS, SPC, calibration, and production reporting tools
• Support IT/OT convergence across PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, production equipment, and automated lines
• Ensure secure, accurate data flow between enterprise and shop floor systems, supporting real-time production visibility and traceability
• Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, access controls, and compliance procedures aligned with ISO 9001Build and lead the facility IT/MIS team, managing vendors, system integrators, and software partners
• Define the technology roadmap and lead digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives
• Manage IT/MIS Capex and Opex budgets

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field8+ years of experience in IT, MIS, infrastructure, or factory technology environments, including 5+ years in an IT operations or factory IT leadership role
• Hands-on expertise in network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, wireless)
• Experience with manufacturing systems (MES, ERP, WMS, QMS, SPC) and factory workflows
• Solid understanding of IT/OT integration and OT cybersecurity
• Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, greenfield environment
