Junior Accountant

Location: Manchester (Office-based, Full-time)

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Our Client are a bespoke British property development company specialising in property investment, construction management, and premium building materials trading. Due to our continued growth, they are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join their finance team at their Manchester office.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Accountant with day-to-day accounting duties.
• Carry out basic bookkeeping, including processing purchase and sales invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems.
• Perform bank and supplier statement reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Assist with preparing financial reports and management information.
• Undertake general administrative duties to support the finance function.
• Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Produce and edit documents using Microsoft Word.
• Liaise professionally with colleagues, suppliers, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a bookkeeping, accounts assistant, or junior accounting role is preferred.
• AAT qualification (or studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA) is advantageous but not essential.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
