About the AgencyThe Australian Digital Health Agency leads the national effort to digitally enable Australia’s health system. We support the delivery of person-centred, connected healthcare through the development and adoption of digital health services and systems.
Our work includes managing My Health Record, Electronic prescriptions, and the 1800MEDICARE app, ensuring a healthier future for all Australians through connected healthcare.
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support the delivery of strategic digital health initiatives that improve outcomes for Australians.
Working under broad direction and reporting to a Senior Business Analyst or Product Owner, you will play a key role in analysing business needs, solving complex problems, and translating stakeholder requirements into practical solutions that support product and service delivery.
In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to elicit and document business and technical requirements, develop business processes, support project delivery, and contribute to product design improvements aligned with organisational priorities. You will bring strong analytical capability, sound judgement, and a proactive approach to driving outcomes in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Skills and experience (essential criteria) To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, applying business analysis methodologies to deliver outcomes across complex projects, programs or business initiatives.
Proven ability to elicit, analyse, document and validate business and technical requirements, translating complex business needs into clear, practical solutions, user stories, acceptance criteria and traceable requirements that support successful product delivery.
Strong capability in business process analysis, process improvement and documentation, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance business and service delivery outcomes.
Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks and manage competing priorities.
Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships, influence outcomes and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of digital health standards, including HL7 CDA and FHIR, and experience supporting project delivery within Agile and/or Waterfall environments would be highly beneficial.
Australian citizenship is a mandatory eligibility requirement. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain both a national police clearance and a Baseline security clearance, with the capacity to attain a higher-level clearance if required by the Agency.
