Role Description

The Accountant will be a full-time, on-site team member based in London, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company’s reporting and compliance requirements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing journal entries, reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close, and producing financial statements and management reports.

The role involves monitoring accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and expense claims, and supporting cash flow management. The Accountant will also assist with regulatory and tax filings, coordinate with external auditors, and help refine internal controls and accounting procedures.

Collaboration with finance and operations colleagues is expected to ensure timely, accurate information for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting skills, including experience with general ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) and solid Microsoft Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial compliance requirements relevant to the financial services sector.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently while maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Relevant professional qualification or progress toward qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) and a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prior experience in accounting within financial services or a similarly regulated industry is an advantage.
