Salary: $50-$60 per hour DOE

Reliability Maintainability and Optimization (RMO) & Warrantees Portfolio (AGILE)

Primary responsibility is to improve fleet safety by improving our analytics on optimization of operator maintenance programs including reliability, operational and maintenance performance as well as ensuring SOX compliance for our Warrantees business unit.

Warranties & RMO

Warranties is an existing system in the maintenance and enhancement phase. The system enables warranty decisions and processing of all warranty claims for commercial aircrafts.

The is a line of business system consisting of a desk top application used by the Warranty team within Boeing, a web application accessed by customers to submit and manage their claims, and a second web application accessed by suppliers to communicate and manage claims against their products used on Boeing aircraft.

RMO or Reliability and Maintenance Optimization is a portfolio of applications supporting Boeing Global Services and Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Most applications are in the maintenance and minor enhancement phase.

There is a significant project in the build stage that is modernizing and consolidating a subset of the RMO applications to address technical debt and save engineering hours when creating optimized maintenance programs (supporting revenue and pro forma).

The applications within this portfolio follow agile development framework. The applications are supported by agile scrum teams. Each scrum team is responsible to groom their backlog before every 2 week sprint. The assignment of the relative priority is the responsibility of the Product Owner.

Once the work items are identified & prioritized, they are assigned to the current sprint in Azure DevOps and classified as Epics, Features and User Stories. The team then manages their own work in the Azure DevOps tool thru completion of each in scope story. At the end of each sprint the team performs user demos for feedback.

Scaled Agile Framework

Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a framework used for scaling Agile across the enterprise. SAFe sustains and drives faster time-to-market, dramatic increases in productivity and quality, and improvement in employee engagement. SAFe is designed to help businesses continuously and more efficiently deliver value on a regular and predictable schedule.

SAFe provides a knowledge base of proven, integrated principles and practices to support enterprise agility. SAFe provides guidance for all the levels of the enterprise that are actively engaged in solution development: Team, Program, Large Solution, and Portfolio.

The result is greater alignment and visibility across the organization, connecting the business strategy to execution, enabling better business results, faster, and with a higher degree of predictability and quality.

This is a Hybrid position where time is spent both working in the office (travel required - up to 25%) as well as working remotely from home. It is strongly preferred that this position be based within Seattle.

Responsibilities

Scrum Master and Project Management - In the Enterprise External Cloud, the Consultant shall provide common scrum master and project management services including facilitating team scrums, determining team capacity, facilitating planning and retrospectives.

Tasks also include escalating help needed and working to remove impediments for the team, communicating with the EEC leadership team and providing metrics on team or project performance.

Scrum Meetings

• Host team scrum meetings each week to review progress to plan against the committed PI features.
• Identify any risks or issues which may affect the successful completion of the acceptance criteria.
• Conduct a retrospective every Sprint (2 weeks) and identify what went well, what did not go well and what needs to be improved

Continuous Planning / Backlog Refinement

• Participate in weekly meetings with the Boeing CES Technical Lead to continuously groom and refine the backlog for future Program Increments

Agile Release Train (ART) Sync

• Participate in bi-weekly ART Sync meetings to communicate progress to plan and identify any help needed.
• Any cross-team dependencies will be communicated as well

Program Increment (PI) Planning

• Participate in PI Planning and define the PI Objectives, committed features and associate acceptance criteria, and dependencies and risks
