Financial Accountant

We're partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a senior Financial Accountant to join their growing finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys technical accounting, financial reporting and driving continuous improvement within a business undergoing significant transformation.

As the business continues to modernise its finance function, you'll have the opportunity to influence new processes, streamline reporting and bring fresh ideas to the team.

• Included In What You’ll DoPerform month-end and year-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations, accruals and adjustments
• Prepare monthly management reports, reporting schedules and group reporting submissions
• Assist with quarterly external audit reviews and year-end financial statement preparation
• Prepare statutory and regulatory reporting, including APRA, AFIA and ASIC reporting
• Liaise with external auditors and key stakeholders across the business
• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, SOX requirements and group reporting obligations
• Support finance transformation initiatives and ERP implementation activities
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and automation
• Provide financial analysis and commentary to support business decision making

What You Have

• To be successful, you'll bring:CA qualification with approximately 4-6 years' experience in financial accounting or audit
• Previous Big 4 experience Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Experience with statutory and regulatory reporting
• Exposure to SOX compliance and US GAAP (desirable)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or other ERP systems will be highly regarded
