Operations Manager (Bunker) – Shipowner

We are partnering with an established energy and shipping company with a strong presence in Singapore and a portfolio of physical assets. Due to the continued expansion of its bunker and fuel oil trading business, the company is looking to hire an Operations Manager to lead the operations team and oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the business

Role

Reporting to General Manager. The Operations Manager will oversee the end-to-end delivery of the company’s bunkering operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo loading, bunkering and Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfers, while ensuring fuel quality, quantity and documentation accuracy.

The role will manage fleet planning, coordinate closely with terminals, suppliers, cargo officers and ship management teams, and ensure full compliance with regulatory and safety requirements such as SS648 and QMBS. In addition, the Operations Manager will lead and develop the operations team, drive continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives, implement KPIs and technology solutions to improve efficiency and service delivery, optimise workflows and costs, manage the departmental budget, and support the company’s broader operational and strategic objectives.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Maritime Studies or a related discipline and have at least 6 years of experience in bunker operations, including team leadership or supervisory responsibilities. Experience in cargo or fuel oil operations would be an added advantage.

The successful candidate should possess strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and perform effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.
