Marketing Manger

About the role

As Marketing Manager you'll own the marketing pillar across NZ Venues and Auckland Weddings. Strategy and execution both sit with you: the playbook, the calendar, the calls, with the Managing Director as a sounding board rather than a sign-off. You'll be hands-on from day one.

EDMs, blogs and social are the weekly rhythm, and the templates and systems already exist, so it's assembly rather than reinvention (until you're ready for reinvention). Everything past that is yours to find, test and prove. You'll work closely with the salesperson, with retention as a shared goal. User behaviour tells you a lot, and reading it well is part of the job.

Who's engaging, who's gone quiet, how venues are performing. That's what shapes the campaigns, the content and the conversations we have with customers before renewal comes around. Once you're settled and the workload calls for it, you'll bring on a marketing assistant, a team you shape yourself.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, write and send 3–4 EDMs a week — vendor promotions, seasonal campaigns and specialty newsletters (Mailchimp)
• Grow and segment subscriber lists, and use the send data to make every campaign better
• Create content for social media
• Shoot video on your iPhone — venues, events and behind-the-scenes are our best material
• Edit video into short-form clips that perform (Capcut - can be another tool if you prefer)
• Plan, build and optimise Meta campaigns — create the creative (Canva, AI tools), then test and scale what works
• Write and optimise blogs, guides and vendor content to hold rankings — and keep visible in AI-powered search
• Keep website content fresh, optimised and converting, with banners and collateral in Canva
• Own vendor marketing delivery — onboarding, promotions and requests, so every client gets what they signed up for
• Report performance across Mailchimp, Meta and website analytics, and use it to drive decisions

About you

• 3–5+ years' hands-on digital marketing — strong foundations, ready for real ownership
• Proven skills in Mailchimp (or similar) and Meta Ads and Google Ads Manager — you've built and optimised campaigns yourself
• Excellent copywriting and solid SEO — plus genuine curiosity about where AI search is heading
• Data-driven and organised — decisions from metrics, a weekly send cadence that never slips
• Confident making good-looking content yourself
• Canva a must, and comfortable shooting video on an iPhone and editing it into short-form clips
• Ready to hire and shape a marketing assistant when the time is right
• A small-business heart — you get creative with limited resources, thrive on autonomy, and want a role you genuinely own
• A partnership mindset — when a client churns you don't point fingers; you treat retention as a shared problem and iterate until it sticks
