Salary Range

Job Summary
As an experienced IT Project Manager at BPMI, you will be responsible for planning, initiating, and executing large IT projects with significant organizational and technical complexity and high total project cost (> $20M). This includes planning, designing, analyzing, documenting, and testing software, systems, equipment, and facilities.
Your role will encompass evaluations, design reviews, operational support, security analysis, engineering methods, software development, and quality control or manufacturing surveillance of vendor procedures and systems. You will maintain the technical excellence of the Company within the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program.
Based upon current systems, this position requires on-site work for the majority of the work week and cannot be performed entirely remotely.
Essential Duties
- Develop comprehensive project plans with timelines, milestones, resources, and budget estimates, coordinating internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Prioritize tasks, manage schedules, monitor performance, and execute change management, taking corrective actions as necessary for effective project execution.
- Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams, effectively assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting regular meetings to track progress and address issues.
- Motivate team members and foster a positive, collaborative work environment while managing disputes and ensuring team cohesion.
- Manage relationships and expectations with internal and external customers and stakeholders, communicating project status, issues, and updates to ensure satisfaction.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans, proactively address issues, and critically solve problems to make informed decisions that impact project status.
- Create and maintain thorough project documentation, track performance with appropriate tools to ensure contract requirements are met.
- Prepare status reports for management and stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively across multiple channels, adapting messaging to various audiences including team members, executives, and internal and external customers.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce quality standards for deliverables to ensure compliance with all requirements, and conduct project evaluations and lessons learned reviews.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure optimal use of financial and team resources.
- Participate in strategic planning and resourcing for major initiatives.

Job Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering, Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience managing projects of various size and complexity.
- Seventeen (17) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements.
- BPMI PM Certification Level 1 or higher.
- Upon entry into the PM job ladder, certification must be obtained within one (1) year.
- Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
