Role Overview

The FP&A Analyst is a key analytical hire within benefitbay’s Finance organization, reporting directly to the VP of Finance and working alongside our Accounting team. In this role, you’ll parse and clean complex datasets, build financial models, and think critically about what the numbers mean for the business.

As benefitbay moves through its next stage of growth, this person will play a direct role in improving forecast accuracy, strengthening our reporting infrastructure, and surfacing insights that inform pricing, staffing, and investment decisions across the company.

This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career (2+ years of experience) who is comfortable with ambiguity, energized by digging into messy data, and excited to be a part of scaling a fast-growing company at the intersection of healthcare and fintech.

Responsibilities

• Own, build and maintain financial models and analyses used to drive strategic initiatives.
• Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, partnering cross-functionally to gather and validate assumptions.
• Assist in the preparation of month reporting packages, board materials, and other investor-facing collateral.
• Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple systems to ensure accuracy and consistency across all reporting and analysis.
• Identify and address opportunities to automate and streamline reporting processes, models, and data workflows.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, Math, the physical sciences or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in investment banking, business intelligence, FP&A or a similar role
• General understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting concepts
• Strong Excel skills; excellent attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
• Some exposure to DOMO, SQL, or other data querying tools for working with large or complex data sets.

Preferred

• Experience with financial planning or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar).
• Experience integrating data with AI tools to accelerate data insights and improve decision making.
• Prior experience in a startup or other high-growth environment.
