How you'll make an impact

Growth Engineering at Airwallex is building an AI-native platform that powers customer acquisition, activation, conversion, retention, and expansion. We're developing scalable infrastructure, intelligent decision systems, and high-performance web experiences that connect product, sales, and marketing to drive measurable business outcomes.

As an Engineering Lead, Full Stack, you'll lead a team of engineers to design, build, and scale the web experiences and growth platforms that power Airwallex's customer acquisition and conversion journeys.

You'll own the technical direction and execution of customer-facing web applications, corporate websites, content management systems, and growth capabilities, combining strong full-stack engineering expertise with technical leadership and product judgment.

• Own web engineering and full-stack delivery , leading the design, development, and evolution of high-performance websites, landing pages, CMS-powered experiences, and customer-facing web applications.
• Drive technical architecture and direction , making pragmatic decisions across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, content platforms, and integrations to build scalable, maintainable, and reliable systems.
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering team , providing technical mentorship, coaching, clear expectations, and fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
• Enable growth and experimentation , building capabilities for rapid content iteration, A/B testing, personalization, conversion optimization, and marketing automation to accelerate customer acquisition and activation.
• Partner across functions , working closely with Product, Design, Marketing, Data Science, and other engineering teams to translate ambiguous business needs into intuitive experiences and scalable technical solutions.
• Drive measurable business outcomes , using performance metrics, experimentation, and customer insights to improve website performance, conversion, engagement, and overall growth effectiveness.
• Raise the engineering bar , establishing strong engineering practices for code quality, web performance, accessibility, SEO, security, reliability, observability, and operational excellence.

What we're looking for

Essentials

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience , including experience leading engineers or complex technical initiatives, and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong full-stack engineering expertise , with hands-on experience building and operating production web applications using modern frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, and TypeScript, alongside backend technologies such as Python, Java/Kotlin, or Node.js.
• Demonstrated ownership of web engineering , with experience architecting, building, and scaling customer-facing websites, web applications, CMS platforms, landing pages, or similar digital experiences, including integrations with backend services and third-party systems.
• Proven technical leadership and execution skills , with a track record of leading complex engineering initiatives, making sound architectural decisions, navigating technical tradeoffs, and delivering high-quality solutions end to end.
• Strong product judgment, ownership, and people leadership , with the ability to mentor and develop engineers, work effectively with Product, Design, and Marketing, navigate ambiguity, and translate business goals into measurable engineering outcomes.

Preferred

• Experience building or owning growth-oriented web platforms, including corporate websites, headless CMS, landing page platforms, marketing websites, or self-service product experiences.
• Experience with growth systems and conversion optimization, including experimentation platforms, A/B testing, personalization, SEO, web analytics, attribution, or marketing technology integrations.
• Experience designing and scaling modern web architectures, including server-side rendering, static site generation, CDN/edge infrastructure, caching, and web performance optimization.
• Experience building AI-powered applications or agentic workflows, including LLM integration, tool orchestration, evaluation, and production observability.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering initiatives involving Product, Design, Marketing, Data Science, or Revenue Operations.
• Experience in high-growth technology companies, fintech, payments, or regulated environments.

You’ll build high-traffic platforms, experimentation frameworks, and intelligent decision systems that turn signals—such as company profile, product usage, lifecycle stage, behavior, and intent—into personalized journeys, next-best actions, and measurable incremental value.

The work spans both human + AI and autonomous operating models: AI-native tools that increase the leverage of growth teams, alongside agentic workflows that can research opportunities, launch and optimize campaigns, orchestrate customer journeys, and measure outcomes within clear strategies and guardrails.

The challenge is to combine consumer-technology speed with the precision, trust, and regulatory complexity of global B2B finance. If you enjoy owning ambiguous problems end to end, prototyping quickly, measuring real business impact, and using every outcome to improve the next decision, you’ll help define how an AI-native global financial platform grows.
