Job Description
About the Role
- Client’s Technology division is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to drive high-impact Identity Security initiatives across our enterprise IAM landscape.
- This contingent role sits within the Identity Security organization and partners closely with engineering, architecture, compliance, and business teams to deliver complex programs on time, within scope, and in alignment with our security strategy.
- You will lead delivery across one or more workstreams spanning privileged access management, identity governance, directory services modernization, and phishing-resistant authentication.
- This is a hands-on project management role that requires both technical depth in identity and access management platforms and strong stakeholder communication across executive, engineering, and compliance audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Delivery Management
- Own end-to-end program planning, scheduling, and execution for one or more identity security workstreams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, dependency maps, risk registers, and RAID logs.
- Lead sprint planning, PI Planning events, and backlog grooming in an SAFe/Agile delivery model.
- Facilitate cross-team ceremonies including standups, demos, retrospectives, and steering committee reviews.
- Track and report on program health, milestones, and KPIs to senior leadership and the CISO organization.
- Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve blockers, risks, and inter-workstream dependencies.
Identity Security Domain Work
- Drive delivery of Privileged Access Management (PAM) programs using BeyondTrust Password Safe, Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM), and Privileged Remote Access (PRA).
- Support initiatives related to Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) including conditional access policy governance, hybrid identity, and lifecycle management.
- Partner with IGA teams on SailPoint IdentityNow configuration, access certification campaigns, and role engineering.
- Coordinate Okta identity platform hardening, including phishing-resistant MFA (FastPass, FIDO2/WebAuthn), device assurance policies, and authenticator enrollment controls.
- Translate technical identity requirements into workable project scope, acceptance criteria, and delivery milestones.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program status across technology, security, compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver executive-ready status reports, steering committee decks, and program dashboards.
- Partner with Vendor Management and Procurement on contingent resource onboarding and statement of work management.
- Coordinate with audit and compliance teams (SOX, PCI-DSS, NIST) to ensure delivery timelines support control testing windows.
Skills
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of technical project or program management experience in enterprise IT or cybersecurity environments.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing IAM or cybersecurity programs — not just general IT infrastructure projects.
- Direct experience with one or more of the following platforms: BeyondTrust (Password Safe, EPM, PRA), Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, SailPoint IdentityNow or IIQ, Okta.
- Proficiency with agile frameworks including SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban; experience facilitating PI Planning events preferred.
- Strong command of project management tooling: Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical complexity for executive audiences.
- Experience working in a large, matrixed enterprise environment with distributed delivery teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PgMP, SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience managing PAM programs in a retail, financial services, or regulated industry.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-63, Zero Trust architecture principles, or CIS Controls.
- Background coordinating identity security initiatives that intersect with SOX, PCI-DSS, or similar compliance frameworks.
- Prior experience as a contingent worker embedded within a large enterprise technology organization.
Work Environment & Expectations
- This is a hybrid role based at client’s Seattle headquarters.
- Onsite presence of 4 days per week is expected for team collaboration, stakeholder meetings, and program ceremonies.
- Client is committed to building an inclusive workplace.
- We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Education
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Information Security, or related discipline) preferred for candidates with fewer than 10 years of experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered: candidates with an Associate’s degree plus 10+ years of directly relevant IAM/cybersecurity program management experience will be evaluated on merit.
- Project management certification (PMP, PgMP) or agile certification (SAFe SPC, CSM) may substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Relevant vendor certifications (e.g., BeyondTrust Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, SailPoint Certified IdentityNow Engineer, Okta Certified Administrator) are a plus and may offset formal degree requirements at hiring manager discretion.
