Summary

GTS Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to support customer-facing IT deployment projects, with a strong focus on A/V or Rugged Mobility project environments.

This role is best suited for a mid-to-senior Project Manager who has experience managing technical deployment work, coordinating internal teams and vendors, keeping customers informed, tracking project risks, and driving projects through completion.

The strongest candidates will have project management experience in A/V deployments, Rugged Mobility deployments, or closely related technical field deployment environments. Candidates do not need experience in both A/V and Rugged Mobility, but they should have enough relevant technical deployment experience to clearly explain project scope, workflow, risks, resources, and customer impact.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Full-time conversion is not guaranteed and will depend on performance and GTS business/project needs.

What You Will Do

• Manage customer-facing IT deployment projects from planning through closeout.
• Act as a liaison between GTS, customers, internal teams, field resources, and vendors.
• Coordinate project timelines, resources, schedules, deliverables, risks, and *customer communication.
• Support A/V deployment projects, including coordination of equipment, installation schedules, vendors, and customer updates.
• Support Rugged Mobility deployment projects, which may involve police, fire, EMS, public safety, or government vehicle technology environments.
• Coordinate internal resources and vendors to ensure assigned projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Schedule internal and external project calls within defined service level expectations.
• Coordinate resource requirements with Field Operations leadership.
• Develop and maintain project plans to monitor progress and keep stakeholders aligned.
• Provide consistent project updates through project status reports and end-of-day reporting.
• Track project risks, communicate concerns, and escalate issues when needed.
• Support inventory shipment scheduling for customer-owned and GTS-owned equipment.
• Address customer questions, concerns, and project-related issues through completion.
• Submit invoices in alignment with billing requirements in the statement of work.
• Complete project closeout activities, including closeout calls, lessons learned, and customer satisfaction follow-up.
• Support job costing reviews, post-project cost analysis, and project-related sales support as needed.
• Visit assigned project sites when needed to better understand the work being delivered and ensure project alignment.
• Ensure project work aligns with internal policies, customer expectations, contractual requirements, and applicable standards.

Required Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of related project management experience.
• IT project management experience in a technical deployment, services, infrastructure, hardware, field services, A/V, mobility, or similar environment.
• Experience managing customer-facing projects with internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage a high volume of active projects with competing deadlines.
• Experience managing or coordinating 20+ active projects at a time strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of technical deployment work, with enough project experience to clearly explain project scope, workflow, risks, resources, and customer impact.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate resources effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to assigned accounts.
• Comfort supporting public sector and public safety environments, which may include client-specific background requirements depending on project assignment.

Highly Desired

• A/V deployment project management experience and/or Rugged Mobility deployment project management experience.
• Experience supporting police, fire, EMS, public safety, city, county, school district, or government customer environments.
• Experience with police vehicles, fire department vehicles, ambulances, vehicle technology, Toughbooks, rugged laptops, rugged tablets, GPS systems, mobile data terminals, lighting systems, or related public safety technology.
• Experience with hardware deployments, field services, endpoint rollouts, computer setups, monitor installations, wiring coordination, communication setups, or technical equipment deployments.
• Experience coordinating field technicians, installation teams, vendors, inventory, shipments, schedules, and customer site work.
• NetSuite experience.
• PMP, PgMP, CAPM, or comparable project management certification preferred, but not required.

Best-Fit Candidate

The strongest fit is a Technical Project Manager who has managed customer-facing IT deployment projects involving A/V, Rugged Mobility, public safety technology, field resources, vendors, equipment, or project site coordination.

This role is not best suited for someone whose experience is limited to software, Scrum, data center, desktop support, or internal business projects. The ideal candidate has enough technical project exposure to speak clearly about how deployment work is planned, coordinated, tracked, escalated, and completed.
